We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Shop Assistant to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will possess carpentry knowledge and experience with assembly line processes, as well as proficiency in using various hand and power tools. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of our production line and maintaining high-quality standards in our products. Someone who looks to advance their woodworking skill preferred.
Duties
- Assist in the assembly and fabrication of products according to specifications.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Operate forklifts when necessary to move materials within the warehouse or factory setting.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Drive a sprinter van locally for deliveries and pick ups
Requirements
- Previous experience in carpentry preferably cabinetry or furniture making.
- Strong mechanical knowledge, with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and forklifts.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail, ensuring quality standards are met consistently.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and perform repetitive tasks. Will be handling sheets of plywood frequently.
- Excels at multitasking, moving between simple tasks efficiently and thoroughly.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
