Job Summary:
The Cashier at American Deli (Lawrenceville #2) plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service while accurately and efficiently processing transactions. This position requires a friendly demeanor, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service:
- Greet customers warmly and ensure a positive dining experience.
- Assist customers with menu selections and answer questions about menu items and specials.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and concerns with a professional and courteous attitude.
- Transaction Processing:
- Accurately process cash, credit, and debit card transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and receipts are provided to customers.
- Maintain a balanced cash drawer and report any discrepancies to the shift manager.
- Order Management:
- Take customer orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen staff.
- Package food orders for dine-in, takeout, or delivery.
- Monitor the order status and ensure timely delivery to customers.
- Cleanliness and Organization:
- Maintain a clean and organized cashier station and dining area.
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a sanitary environment.
- Assist with restocking supplies and inventory management as needed.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure efficient operations.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the shift manager or store manager.
Qualifications:
- Previous cashier or customer service experience preferred.
- Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Flexible schedule, including availability to work weekends and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
