One Belle Bakery is a specialty bakery based in Wilmington, NC, but gladly provides cakes and sweet treats throughout the Carolinas and along the east coast. Every order is a chance for us to design a unique and memorable cake that’s as original as the client who helps to create it.
One Belle Bakery is in need of a part time, Cashier team member. This position contributes to the daily operation of the bakery and cafe by serving up smiles and sweet treats to each guest. Primary responsibilities include processing transactions and custom orders in person or by phone, staging baked goods for displays and plating or packaging items for guests, maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the cafe and providing exceptional customer service to every customer. A positive attitude, customer-focused work ethic and responsibility are a must for this position.
We are looking for a very part-time person to work around 10-15 hours a week. The start time for this position is ideally the end of June.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processes all customer transactions using iPad point of sale (POS) system.
- Accepts new orders, by phone or email, and writes invoices and processes deposits using iPad POS system.
- Issues refunds, credits and redeems discounts/promotional coupons in accordance with bakery policies
- Addresses customer questions and resolves customer feedback before escalating to management
- Maintains the appearance and cleanliness of the cafe and display cases
- Stocks and restocks all display cases with various baked goods and helps with quality assurance of all products.
- Preps and Packages orders and products as needed or requested by decorators and management, includes bagging, box assembly, creating and assigning labels and tags, etc.
- Performs opening, shift change and closing duties as necessary.
- Records and maintains phone messages and client correspondence as it pertains to custom orders and forwards them to the appropriate staff member.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum Education High School Diploma, preference given to those with one or more years of college or technical school training
- 1-2 years of customer service or guest-facing work experience
- 1-2 years of retail or food and bev/hospitality experience
- Active listening and attention to detail
- Basic math skill and ability to use iPad/tablet technology for cash management
- Strong communication and time management
- Availability to work 4 or 8 hour shifts Tuesday-Saturdays, while walking/sitting/standing for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift or carry weights of 25+ lb.
