Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team in a fast-paced retail environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional service, along with the ability to handle transactions accurately and efficiently. This role involves working directly with customers, assisting them with their needs, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly manner.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system for processing transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing.
- Maintain knowledge of products and services to effectively upsell and provide product demonstrations when necessary.
- Supervise junior staff members, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Assist in merchandising efforts by organizing product displays and stocking shelves as needed.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues with professionalism and courtesy.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and store environment.
- Perform basic math calculations to ensure accurate cash handling and register balancing.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and enhance overall customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective customer interactions.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and register operations are required.
- Familiarity with grocery store operations is a plus.
- Experience in supervising staff or leading teams is advantageous.
