Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and friendly Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service while efficiently handling transactions. Your ability to communicate effectively and your attention to detail will contribute to a positive shopping experience for our customers in a grocery store environment.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their inquiries, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing.
- Maintain knowledge of products and services to provide effective product demonstrations and upselling opportunities.
- Assist with stocking shelves, merchandising products, and maintaining an organized sales floor.
- Handle customer complaints or issues with professionalism and courtesy, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve store goals and maintain high standards of customer service.
- Perform basic math calculations for transactions and ensure accurate cash drawer management throughout shifts.
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred, particularly in a grocery store setting.
- Familiarity with cashiering duties, including cash handling and retail math skills.
- Supervising experience is a plus, as you may be required to assist in training new staff members.
