Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for various dishes, including chopping, slicing, and dicing vegetables and proteins.
- Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in meal preparation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards.
- Collaborate with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.
- Support menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and food processors.
- Assist with inventory management by tracking supplies and notifying management of shortages.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or culinary environment is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and food handling practices.
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of various cooking methods.
