Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Food Runner to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that food and beverages are delivered promptly and efficiently to our guests, enhancing their dining experience. This position requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff and servers.
Duties
- Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen to the dining area in a timely manner.
- Assist with food preparation as needed, ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area and service stations.
- Collaborate with servers to ensure accurate order delivery and guest satisfaction.
- Upsell menu items when appropriate to enhance guest experience and increase sales.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, utilizing POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS.
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables and resetting them for new guests.
- Adhere to sanitation guidelines and maintain a clean work environment.
Skills
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant settings is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
- Knowledge of food handling practices and safety regulations.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math applications.
- Experience with POS systems is a plus; familiarity with Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous.
- Time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a busy environment.
- Culinary experience or kitchen knowledge is beneficial but not required.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
