Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and friendly Cashier/Sales associate to join our team at a busy UPS Store.
Primary responsibility is to deliver world-class customer service to customers. This requires strong interpersonal skills, effective oral/written communication skills and the ability to work well with others. Computer application knowledge, including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), is recommended and may be required. Knowledge of Internet applications is preferred. Physical requirements include the ability to stand for several hours at a time and ability to lift 50-75+ lbs.
Duties
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process customer transactions.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers and assisting with inquiries.
- Communicate effectively with customers to upsell products and promote special offers.
- Maintain accurate cash handling procedures and ensure the register is balanced at the end of each shift.
- Stock shelves and organize merchandise to ensure the store is well-presented.
- Conduct product demonstrations to engage customers and enhance their shopping experience.
- Utilize basic math skills to handle cash transactions accurately.
- Adhere to phone etiquette when answering customer calls or inquiries.
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail environment is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with customers positively.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and understanding retail math concepts.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience with POS systems is a plus but training will be provided.
- A willingness to learn about products and effectively sell them to customers.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
