Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Para Educator to support 8-10 Male middle school student-athletes in their educational journey. The ideal candidate will monitor and assist in the implementation of lesson plans through WAVA's online courses and provide individualized support to students. This role is essential in fostering a positive learning environment and promoting the academic and social development of students.
Responsibilities
- Assist in delivering lesson plans and adapting materials for diverse learning needs.
- Work closely with Head Of Academics for oversite and support
- Facilitate literacy and math education through engaging activities and personalized instruction.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote a positive classroom environment.
- Help develop and maintain individualized education plans (IEPs) for students as needed.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to Academics Lead and parents regarding student performance and behavior.
- Maintain classroom management and ensure a safe, supportive atmosphere for all students.
- Collaborate with teachers in curriculum development and lesson planning to enhance educational outcomes.
- Engage in communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children, preferably in an educational or childcare setting.
- Background in special education, early childhood education, or related fields is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles and effective teaching methods.
- Proven skills in classroom management and behavior management techniques.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff members.
- Familiarity with Montessori methods or private school experience is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when needed.
