Description of role:
Our growing security and patrol organization is currently accepting applications for the role of School Resource Officer (SRO). The successful candidate will identify and report incidents at assigned client sites and will be responsible for the security and safety of our clients' properties., working closely with administrators in an effort to create a safer environment for both students and staff. The powers and responsibilities are similar to those of regular police officers, as they make arrests, respond to calls for service and document incidents. The Security Resource Officer will conduct regular tours of the assigned facility to identify any irregularities, observe protection and fire control equipment, uphold order, and enforce regulations for the facility in regard to the premises, personnel and visitors. SROs typically have additional duties, including mentoring and conducting presentations on youth-related issues.
Tasks:
- Ensure the security, safety and well-being of all personnel, visitors and the premises
- Safety plan development
- Internal dispute mediation
- Detention and arrests
- Personal and property searches
- Advanced safety functions: SRO duties may include supervising metal detectors in schools, staffing special events where large crowds are anticipated, and even directing foot and auto traffic when necessary.
- Law enforcement education
- Adhere to all company service and operating standards
- Remain in compliance with local, state and federal regulations
- Immediately respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to employees and customers
- Protect the company's assets relative to theft, assault, fire and other safety issues
- Follow procedures for various initiatives, including fire prevention, property patrol, traffic control and accident investigations
Skills and requirements:
- 18+ years of age
- High School Diploma or GED required
- School Resource Officer Certification REQUIRED
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent Customer Service skills
- Capable of following complex instructions
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Willingness to participate in the company's screening process, including background investigation
- Knowledge of security operations and procedures

Sunday-Saturday
Benefits:
Salary: $20.00-$23.00/hour **Based on experience
