Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) - API 1169 Certified
Position Overview: Seeking a qualified Certified Welding Inspector with API 1169 certification to ensure welding operations meet industry standards and specifications for pipeline construction and maintenance projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding inspections on pipeline systems according to API 1169 standards
- Review welding procedures, welder qualifications, and material certifications
- Monitor welding operations for compliance with project specifications
- Document inspection results and maintain detailed records
- Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Ensure compliance with API 1169, ASME, AWS, and relevant industry standards
- Prepare inspection reports and non-conformance documentation
Required Qualifications
Certifications:
- Current API 1169 Pipeline Inspector certification (mandatory)
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification preferred
- Valid driver's license
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years welding inspection experience
- At least 2 years pipeline inspection experience
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW)
- Understanding of metallurgy and material properties
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of API 1104, ASME B31.4/B31.8, AWS D1.1
