The Role
As the Equity Data Chapter Leader, you blend deep data expertise & a passion for the craft of software engineering with a strong ability to coach, mentor, and develop associates. You are deeply committed to improving the value delivered to our customers. In an agile structure you will collaborate with other leaders to establish the standards for your chapter, influence the strategic decisions and build solutions in your expertise. You will directly lead a team of chapter members who work within autonomous squads across but report directly to you. You are committed to helping them grow and develop in their knowledge area and ensure alignment on the how of the work they perform. You are comfortable with supporting your team by being hands on when you need to be but primarily focus on enabling and empowering your team in blazing their own trail. You are committed to developing your own expertise and knowledge to bring the latest thinking to your role.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Minimum of 10 years of Data Engineering and Development experience
- BS degree in Computer Science or related software engineering field or equivalent experience
- Proven successful experience as an engineering coach and mentor as well as developing emerging leaders to their full potential
- Strong technical proficiency with data technologies including structured and unstructured data, relational databases, data movement including batch and messaging, RESTful APIs
- An advocate of software engineering as a craft
- Experience planning development of team capabilities; identifying and acquiring strategic talent needs
- Experience resource planning and talent allocation across large organizations
- Financial services experience in Asset Management preferred
'The Team
The Data Services & Compliance (DSCO) domain with Asset Management Technology provides core and common data engineering to the breadth of Asset Management. This position supports the Equity division and provides data expertise for research and portfolio construction technologies.
This Chapter is focused on Data as a primary competency however we have a combination of data, middle-tier, and UI engineering resources that provide capabilities to all Asset Management advisors and asset classes. We work on a wide variety of technologies including AWS, Oracle, Snowflake, DynamoDB, Java, Spring Boot, Python, REST/API, Kafka, and Tableau. Our goal is to democratize data, and we strive to enable effective consumption of high quality, trusted, data sets that are used in all phases of the investment process.
