Job Title: Charge Nurse – PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Charge Nurse to join our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring exceptional patient care during the critical post-operative phase while guiding and supporting a multidisciplinary nursing team. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate daily operations in the PACU unit
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
- Anticipate patient needs and intervene promptly when conditions change
- Collaborate with the healthcare team for safe and effective recovery outcomes
- Serve as a mentor and resource to nursing staff and unlicensed personnel
- Ensure patient safety through adherence to protocols and active incident reporting
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical education efforts
- Support discharge planning and patient/family education
- Use electronic medical records for accurate and timely documentation
Qualifications:
Must-Haves:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Illinois
- 2+ years of PACU, critical care, or surgical recovery experience preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification (AHA required)
- ACLS certification required
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Leadership experience or ability to function in a charge role
Nice-to-Haves:
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (preferred)
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification (preferred)
- EMR experience (EPIC or similar systems)

Pay: $70,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
