Basler Turbo Conversions is an aircraft manufacturing company that remanufactures turbine-powered DC-3 aircraft for global markets. We take the C-47, which is the military version of the DC-3, and essentially gut it, strip it and rebuild it. Making the old new again is our specialty. We are headquartered in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
Overview: The Chief Inspector in a Part 145 repair station is responsible for ensuring the airworthiness of aircraft components and ensuring compliance with regulations. They oversee inspection programs, manage quality control, and supervise inspectors, while also ensuring the proper execution of maintenance releases and maintaining records.

DUTIES
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all inspection and maintenance activities comply with FAA Part 145 & 43 regulations, Operations Specification, Repair Station Manual (RSM), Quality Control Manual (QCM), and applicable customer and manufacturer requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of FAA regulations, Airworthiness Directives (ADs), and Service Bulletins (SBs) to ensure compliance.
- Ensure compliance with Airworthiness Directives (ADs). This includes reviewing ADs and ensuring they are properly complied with and documented.
Inspection Oversight:
- Develop and implement inspection procedures for incoming, in-process, and final work.
- Oversee and perform inspections of components, aircraft systems, and maintenance activities to verify compliance with approved technical data and regulatory requirements.
Recordkeeping and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and complete records of inspections, audits, and maintenance activities.
- Oversee proper documentation and traceability of aircraft parts, ensuring adherence to FAA and industry requirements.
- Ensure compliance with record retention policies as defined in the RSM/QCM.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with the production team, maintenance team, and customers to address and resolve quality issues.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure clarity on inspection findings and requirements.
Coordinate with the FAA:
- Coordinate with FAA Principal Inspectors (PIs) and serving as the liaison with regulatory entities.
- Documenting and submitting 337 forms
REQUIREMENTS
Experience, Skills, Education
- In-depth knowledge of FAA regulations, including FAR Part 145.
- Strong understanding of maintenance manuals, technical data, and regulatory requirements.
- Airframe and Power Plant license, held for a minimum of 3 years
- Inspector Authorization FAA certification preferred
- Have at least 3 years of maintenance experience with a certified repair station
- Have at least 2 years of inspection experience with a certified repair station
- Previous Chief Inspector experience preferred
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment and random FAA/DOT drug screen.
