This role will help to transform the way in which Freddie Mac does business. The Chief Product Owner develops and drives the overall vision and strategy for a specific Multifamily line of business, working closely with a set of Product Owners and Product Teams to delivery strategic roadmaps.

Your Impact:
The Chief Product Owner role will be part of the Multifamily Technology team, defining the strategy, with our leadership stakeholders, to transform the way in which Freddie Mac does business. The role develops and drives the overall strategic vision for a specific business block, defining the key initiatives we will be focused on, working with their subsequent Product Owners to develop and deliver their Epics
Understanding the Business Process - Understand the Secondary Mortgage industry and the business processes supporting the entire value chain, especially in the Multifamily Capital Markets space
Your Work Enables Decision-Making and Falls into Three Primary Categories:
Understanding the needs of customers, internal and external, and their operational processes to identify, design and define solutions that can be effectively implemented to deliver value.
Understanding the business strategy and apply it to the prioritization of the product initiatives.
Representing the Multifamily Technology team as the principal contact as a subject matter expert and product leader.
Product Management:
Set ambitious and clear product strategy and vision, defining and communicating ‘the story’ effectively to key stakeholders and the rest of the team
Own the end-to-end product strategy from inception and determine business value once solution enters production
Ensure alignment of product teams to meet the strategic initiatives
Continuously improve team execution, mentoring Product Owners and the related product teams
Ensure customer-driven design considering user pain points & usability test results, using market & industry knowledge as well as continual research, to deliver a well-positioned product
Approve each epic, providing valuable feedback for the team, as well as ensuring commitment timeframes are managed
Drive initiative release plans, together with the Release Train Engineers and Chief Development Leads
Exercise strong decision-making mandate from executive group to own product end-to-end
Work with Chief Development Lead to ensure best practices are defined and followed
Facilitate the collaboration of cross-organizational teams to establish, develop, implement and rollout new and enhanced capabilities.
Communicate value and status to various stakeholders and levels of management.
Participates or leads activities that support system development & deployment (e.g. process redesign, Day 1 setup, risk & controls documentation, user acceptance testing).
Proficient in documenting risk & controls (e.g. policies, procedures, process flows, risk and control matrices).
Qualifications:
5-7 years of mortgage related experience with demonstrated experience in Multifamily real estate and/or Capital Markets
5+ years of people management experience
10+ years of experience delivering large, complex change management projects that involve interfacing with multiple teams, especially projects involving changes to business applications and technology.

Top notch written and verbal communication skills, including ability to present to management and expertly facilitate meetings.
High level of comfort operating in the gray, and flexibility to work on multiple, concurrent assignments.
Ability to understand strategy and apply to day-to-day decisions.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $195,000 - $293,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
