Job Description:
This is a community-based position that serves residents of the Pueblo of San Felipe. The incumbent will perform a wide variety of duties which include planning, organizing of program activities/services and monitoring of child care providers for the Pueblo of San Felipe Child Care Program.
Duties:
- Develop and maintain a home-monitoring schedule for new and active child care provider homes. Monitor based on yearly home monitoring visit requirements listed in the Tribal Minimum Health & Safety Standards.
- Monitor and Inspect Child Care Provider homes to ensure homes meet all Health and Safety requirements. Conduct initial Home Inspection for all new child care providers prior to each providers start date. Based on initial visit, possible follow-up visits may be needed and yearly renewals thereafter.
- Provide/recommend safety equipment based on specific needs of each home to ensure homes are safe and in compliance with the Health & Safety Standards. Conduct follow-up visits to check that safety equipment has been installed or in place within 2 weeks of issuing or recommending items.
- Develop and maintain record keeping of all reports created/obtained during each home monitoring visit.
- Develop and maintain a tracking system of all required Child Care Provider Trainings and ensure that each child care provider is in compliance with their yearly training requirements.
- Schedule Provider Training and enrichment sessions monthly and as needed.
- Assist in the development of activities around the Keres Language Immersion Project for child care providers. Activities will be based on the yearly Traditional Calendar of community events as well as activities to promote the keres language.
- Assist in creating At-Home craft activity kits for children in each child care home.
- Assist in outreach for additional early childhood training via various tribal programs or outside resources for child care providers monthly, to enhance the quality of services and promote on-going professional development.
- Assist in the set-up of the Lillio Academy App for all child care providers and conduct on-going assistance regarding the app as needed.
- Conduct Provider recruitment and outreach as needed.
- Produce letters, memos regarding any upcoming trainings, meetings, events, etc.
- Assist with set-up and clean up of all program activities.
- Participate in staff professional development trainings, conferences, meetings, etc. (in state and out of state).
- Answer phones, take messages, run errands as needed.
- Must possess a positive attitude, be a team player, have patience and enjoy working with families and children.
- Must be a fluent Keres speaker.
- Must have a valid NM Driver’s License and be insurable.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Education: HS Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience/Basic Knowledge: Must have one year of experience working with children and families.
- Required Licenses/Certifications: Must have a valid NM driver’s license.
- Physical Requirements: Must have manual dexterity to enter and retrieve data from a computer. Ability to sit and stand for long periods. Bends and stoops regularly.
- Preferences: San Felipe Preference and Keres Speaking Required.
