PRIMARY PURPOSE
The School Child Care Worker will maintain a safe and stimulating environment for young children enrolled in our Before and After School Care Ministry.
QUALIFICATIONS
Eligible staff must be:
- Mature and of good character with the energy and emotional stability necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of their positions.
- 12 months of childcare experience or AAS Degree in Child Care or Education
- Complete Background Check Clearance
- Preferred Training in First aid/CPR
REQUIREMENTS
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Report to the Site Supervisor
- Assist in the classroom to provide an environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
- Perform duties as planned under the leadership of the Director / Site Supervisor.
- Interact with the children in a way which conveys respect and nurturing
- Support the social and emotional development of children.
- Provide activities and opportunities that encourage curiosity, exploration, and problem-solving during playtime.
- Maintain a safe environment based on safety standards set by the program
- Assist in the cleaning and straightening of the child care rooms at the end of the day, as well as putting away any outside equipment
- Maintain open, friendly, and cooperative relationships with each child’s family.
- Continue professional development through OCFS Online Training
- Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $18.50 per hour
