Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage legacy Natural code in the MACWIS production environment.
- Resolve production issues and contribute to the development of new features and system enhancements aligned with future-state design.
- Represent MDCPS in technical meetings, planning sessions, and inter-agency collaborations.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for both MACWIS and CCWIS (Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System).
Specific Work Packages:
- Conduct source data analysis and develop cleanup scripts (SQL, Natural) to:
- Remove duplicate records for non-licensed resources, court-ordered non-licensed resources, persons, and orphaned records.
- Address data integrity issues such as undefined genders and mismatched "self" relationships.
- Plan and prepare for data migration of notifications and alerts to the modernized CCWIS platform.
- Support Data Migration Team (DMT) script validation and testing activities.
Required Technical Skills/Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience with Natural Programming Language.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Visual Basic 6 (VB6).
- Minimum 5 years of experience with SQL.
- Experience with .NET Framework (C#, ASP.NET).
- Strong background in legacy system support and production troubleshooting.
- Experience with data integration, batch processing, and file-based interfaces.
- Proficiency in code refactoring, system modularization, and modernization efforts.
- Familiar with data mapping, conversion, and migration strategies.
- Proficient with version control and change management tools (Git, SVN, TFS).
- Hands-on experience with SACWIS, MACWIS, or CCWIS systems.
Knowledge of core child welfare processes:
- Case management
- Intake
- Service planning
- Licensing
- Reporting
- Ability to convert child welfare program needs into technical specifications.
Professional Experience:
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production support environment.
- Experience working collaboratively with business analysts, testers, and project managers.
- Skilled in writing technical documentation and contributing to system design.
- Comfortable acting as SME in technical meetings and cross-functional settings.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and in a team.
- Leadership experience in mentoring junior developers or leading technical efforts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with modernization or overhaul of child welfare systems.
- Knowledge of federal CCWIS compliance standards.
- Familiarity with federal requirements for child welfare system implementations.
- Experience working with ADABAS databases.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $70.00 - $80.00 per hour
