The Children’s Mental Health Clinician is responsible for providing services related to the delivery of mental health care to assigned clients.

Qualifications:
Requirements:
- Master’s degree from an accredited university in the field of psychology, social work, counseling education or related field
- Ability to pass a drug screening and State of Alaska background check
Preferred:
- Licensed in the State of Alaska to provide mental health services (LPC, LCSW, etc.)
Skills required:
- A strong knowledge of the common diagnoses and treatments for school aged children and the skills necessary to facilitate positive change.
- Adhere to the ethical guidelines of related profession and maintain current CEU’s
- Ability to:
- Build rapport with clients and staff
- Utilize tools such as DSM 5 and ASAM with clients
- Establish and maintain clear therapeutic boundaries
- Work as a team member including accepting and providing supervision
- Great written and verbal communication skills
- Punctuality reporting to work and in delivery of direct services
- Basic computer skills, internet skills and fluid use of electronic communication tools
Job responsibilities:
- Provides direct mental health services to include intake assessment, individual/family/group therapy, and crisis intervention to assigned clients
- Maintains regular contact with the parent/guardian of each client (if appropriate)
- Completes master treatment plans, treatment plan updates, managed care authorizations and all chart requirements.
- Furnishes required reports to Office of Children Services, legal system and other involved agencies, as necessary
- Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings and clinical supervision at the corporate office
- Participates in the collection of mental health information to be used for monitoring the overall performance and effectiveness of services provided
