Job Summary:
As a Restaurant Cashier at Cilantro Taco Grill, you are a key team member responsible for handling the initial contact with our guests. Your primary role is to provide fast, friendly, and accurate check-out services while offering information about our menu items and promotions. Your efficiency and courteous service play a fundamental part in maintaining our reputation for an excellent dining experience.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome customers warmly as they enter Cilantro Taco Grill.
- Operate cash registers, scanners, and terminals to process payments, ensuring accuracy in all transactions.
-Support dishwashing through the shift.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the menu, including daily specials or changes, to answer customer inquiries and make recommendations confidently.
- Ensure all pricing and menus displayed are current and correct discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Manage cash and other payment forms, ensuring no discrepancies at the end of the shift.
- Provide receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers as needed.
- Address customer complaints and direct them to the management when necessary.
- Keep the checkout area clean and orderly; undertake additional cleaning and maintenance tasks as required.
- Assist in food preparation and packaging as needed, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Maintain standards of cleanliness in the dining room, bathrooms, and outside facilities. Ensuring a welcoming and sanitary environment for all persons.
General Expectations:
- You are expected to possess strong communication and time management skills and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- You should have a basic understanding of mathematical skills and be proficient in handling money.
- Familiarity with electronic equipment, such as cash registers and POS systems, is essential.
- You are required to stand for extended periods and must be flexible to work in shifts, including weekends and evenings.
- Prompt and regular attendance on assigned shift
