Responsibilities: Position Summary:

Incumbent provides care to an assigned group of cardiology patients, including the oversight and administration of all cardiac stress tests in both inpatient and outpatient setting. The candidate will also perform EndoPat testing, tilt table tests and transesophageal echocardiograms under moderate sedation in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This position requires traveling between sites and will cross train in cardiac rehabilitation department and cardiology clinic. Evaluates patient clinical needs and outcomes, effectiveness of plan of care, readiness for discharge and revises plan or make referrals as necessary.

Qualifications: Required Qualifications:
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Must be available to work overtime when required.
  • Must be able to participate in on-call rotation
  • Minimum of two years nursing experience in an acute care setting
  • Knowledge of AHA Stress Test guidelines
  • Current California RN license
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Competent in delivery of moderate sedation and recovery
  • All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  • 6 months current stress testing experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working in a Cardiology clinical setting
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
  • Critical Care or related Certification(s)
  • Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families

Licenses and Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support
