Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Infusion RN to join our specialized team in an arthritis and rheumatology practice. The Infusion RN will be responsible for administering IV biologics and other injectable therapies to patients with autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriatic arthritis, and related disorders. The ideal candidate has strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and a patient-centered approach to care.
Responsibilities:
- Administer intravenous infusions and subcutaneous injections including biologic and immunosuppressive therapies in accordance with physician orders.
- Monitor patients for infusion-related reactions and adverse effects; initiate appropriate interventions as needed.
- Conduct pre-infusion assessments, including reviewing labs, verifying treatment orders, and assessing vital signs.
- Educate patients and caregivers on treatment regimens, medication side effects, self-monitoring, and lifestyle considerations related to chronic autoimmune conditions.
- Document all aspects of patient care accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Coordinate with rheumatologists, medical assistants, and administrative staff to ensure timely and effective patient care.
- Maintain proper storage, handling, and inventory of infusion medications, including compliance with cold chain and safety protocols.
- Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines, including aseptic technique and hazardous drug handling (when applicable).
- Participate in staff training, team meetings, and quality assurance activities to enhance patient outcomes and clinic operations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN); BSN preferred.
- Licensure: Active RN license in [State].
- Certifications:
- Current BLS certification required.
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy & Biotherapy or CRNI (Certified Registered Nurse Infusion) certification a plus.
- Experience:
- At least 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in an outpatient or infusion therapy setting.
- Experience with rheumatologic conditions and familiarity with biologic therapies such as Remicade, Orencia, Actemra, Cimzia, or Simponi is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Proficient IV skills, knowledge of infusion pumps, and familiarity with infusion reaction protocols.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to educate and support patients with chronic disease management.
Working Conditions:
- Outpatient clinical environment with regular weekday hours (Monday-Thursday)
- May require standing or sitting for extended periods during infusions.
- Exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and hazardous medications.

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
