Job Description Summary:

Schedule: Monday - Friday, No weekends & No holidays
-Hours of operation are between 7:30am - 4:30pm

Come join our Endocrinology Team! This is a rewarding opportunity supervise the smooth and efficient operation of the department and assist in the provision of quality health care to patients.

As a part of this team, you would be working alongside the Director or the Assistant Director of Nursing to proactively coordinate patient care activities and ensure the nursing process is carried out by demonstrating professional and clinical leadership. The clinical staff supports patient with diabetes and devices such as, insulin pumps and glucose monitors.

Responsibilities And Duties:

1. Perform the major duties of staff as required per departmental structure.
2. Organize the workflow, prioritize, assign duties and monitor outcome for quality and quantity within the department. Seek and incorporate physician input regarding operations of the department .
3. Oversee the ordering, receiving and storage of supplies/equipment.
4. Write, review and update policies and procedures on a regular basis and as needed for all departments under his/her supervision.
5. Act as a liaison with employees and supervisors from other departments to promote problem solving and improve interdepartmental operations.
6. Review incident reports initiated with the department s and take follow-up action as indicated.
7. Schedule and conduct departmental meetings on a regular basis to convey items of interest, interpret departmental and Company policies and procedures, etc. , as well as to seek input and feedback from employees. Maintain attendance records for departmental meetings.
8. Identify educational needs within the department and assist in developing learning experiences to meet those needs.
9. Participates in interview, selection, and recommendation for hire process and oversees training of new employees for their areas.
10. Review and approve employee time cards and all time-out requests. Maintain accurate records of employee's time out.
11. Arrange office coverage as needed for employee absences using department employees if at all possible
12. Conduct timely employee evaluations, initiate any necessary disciplinary action, recommend bonuses and pay adjustments.
13. Assist in the development of departmental budget; monitor and report utilization of personnel and supplies.
14. Plan for future departmental needs i.e., staffing, equipment, supplies, budget, and space requirements.
15. Participate in required or recommended Company meetings for employees and/or supervisors.
16. Exhibit interest in personal continuing education to improve clinical and/or management skills.
17. Serve on standing or ad hoc committees as requested or as time and interest permits.
18. Meet with and report to Director or Assistant Director of Nursing on regular basis to share information, ideas, concerns, etc.
19. May be required to travel to off site locations.
20. Maintain confidentiality of all current and former patients and medical records as required by HIPAA regulations and company policy.
21. Perform any other duties necessary in the operation of the departments and/or Company.
22. Complete required HealthStream courses.

Possess the tact, patience and kindness required to deal with patients who are ill and may have functional problems.
Supervisory Responsibilities 1. Assists the Director/Assistant Director of Nursing with the overall supervision of nursing staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - National Council of State Boards of Nursing

Additional Job Description:

Required:

  • Must possess a current card verifying CPR Certification or will need to become certified within the first 120 days.
  • LPN licensed in the State of Ohio, without restrictions.
  • Must have a minimum of four years of general nursing experience.

Preferred:

  • Two years of office or supervisory experience.
