Overview
The Clinical Support Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring seamless communication and support care facility client billing. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can effectively manage patient record documentation, assist healthcare professionals, and maintain accurate records. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, be proficient in data entry, EMR experience and have a solid understanding of medical terminology.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient, vendor and provider inquiries and concerns via phone and email.
- Utilize phone etiquette to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff.
- Perform data entry tasks accurately, ensuring all patient information is up-to-date and compliant with Medicare regulations.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth billing operations.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist in the management of medical records and documentation processes.
Qualifications
- Strong phone etiquette and communication skills are essential for resolving or escalating calls from patients, provider and vendors.
- Proficient in computer systems for data entry and record management. MUST have EMR experience and priority for PCC-Point Care Click experience.
- Ability to analyze information critically to support clinical documentation.
- Previous experience in long term care facility is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is required.
- Experience in a long term care facility is highly desired.
- Knowledge of ostomy, tracheotomy, catheter and entral procedures for new patient documentation is required.
- Must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- LVN or LPN required.
