Paragon Force, Inc. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CMM Operator/Programmer with experience in MCOSMOS software to join our team at NSWC CRANE. The successful candidate will be responsible for both operating and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to inspect precision components, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. This position requires an active or obtainable Secret Security Clearance due to the sensitive nature of our work with the Department of Defense.
Key Responsibilities
- Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) using MCOSMOS software to perform dimensional inspections of precision parts and assemblies.
- Create, modify, and optimize CMM programs to support production, first article inspections (FAIs), and special projects.
- Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and inspection requirements.
- Verify and document part conformance against customer and internal requirements.
- Perform first article inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final inspections.
- Maintain detailed inspection records and generate reports as required.
- Troubleshoot and resolve measurement discrepancies, escalating to engineering or quality leadership as needed.
- Ensure calibration and maintenance schedules for CMM equipment are adhered to.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in inspection processes, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Comply with ISO 9001:2015 and customer quality requirements.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience programming and operating CMMs with MCOSMOS software.
- Active Secret Security Clearance (or ability to obtain and maintain one).
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and 3D CAD models.
- Proficiency in dimensional inspection processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Preferred:
- Experience with Mitutoyo CMMs and related hardware.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems.
- Knowledge of additional inspection tools (height gages, micrometers, calipers, surface plates).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
