Our organization is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual with the ability to create and fabricate complex metal parts and products, including smaller pieces and prototypes. Our company is responsible for a very high mix/low quantity machining contracts that include over 600 SKUs ordered annually.
The ideal candidate for this position must be proficient with Mastercam software and have experience using a wide variety of tools, including 3/4/5 axis mills. We're looking for a versatile, detail-oriented individual who can quickly solve problems without supervision. We use Haas and Fadal CNC mills, Haas and Mazak Lathes, and Sodick Wire EDM. We are rapidly growing - acquiring six new machines in the last 4 years with our first 5th axis planned for later this year. Initially, you will be responsible for programming 3- and 4-axis mills, identifying ways to increase efficiency on old parts, and finding creative ways to improve out approach with new parts.
Qualifications:
- Mandatory: 3-5 years experience using Mastercam programming 3 & 4 axis mills
- Preferred: 1-2 years experience using Mastercam programming 5 axis mills
- Preferred: 1-2 years experience using CAD software, Solidworks
- Vocational school or apprenticeship preferred
- Excellent manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to detail
- Great verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to use precision tools (e.g. micrometers, comparator, height gage) to take accurate measurements
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
- Knowledge of metal properties and other material
- Outstanding mathematical skills and analytical abilities
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items
Responsibilities:
- Use files from customer or engineering department to program fixturing, parts, and operations needed to complete the project
- Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job with the desired end goal in mind
- Work with the scheduler to organize work orders to meet deadlines
- Estimate setup and runtimes to assist in quoting
- Select appropriate machines for work to be completed
- Monitor machine while working to adjust the tooling, fixturing, offsets, etc.
- Determine and program size of batches and speed of machine
- Monitor output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects with actionable steps to locate root cause
- Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages
- Have a goal to continuously improve processes

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
