- Establish/maintain management systems in the Coating area to ensure manufacturing process stability, line yields, quality and throughput are at world class levels
- Ensure that a commitment to ‘Customer First’ is embedded within the culture of the department.
- Ensure the current NSG business strategy and company objectives are communicated, understood, and applied to operations within the department.
- Ensure application of appropriate problem-solving techniques (i.e. the eight-step problem solving model, 5-Why) on all significant manufacturing issues to ensure that production problems are resolved in the least amount of time, systems are established to eliminate reoccurrence of the production problems, and process improvement initiatives are implemented on a timely basis.
- Develop talent within your team for succession planning
- Ensure effective training plans are developed and executed for all employees
- Utilizes all available resources (Pilkington, Pilkington Technical, Pilkington NA Manufacturing, External, etc.) to ensure that the Luckey Plant implement the best demonstrated practices on all critical manufacturing processes.
- Ensure that all Coating employees are properly trained and qualified to effectively perform their function through development and maintenance of training programs and qualification testing techniques.
- Review daily/weekly department performance identify gaps in performance develop detailed plans for bridging the gaps.
- Maintain positive relations with the work force and actively utilize the employee involvement process in all manufacturing operations.
- Develop manufacturing budget standards for department operation and guidance.
- Work with the maintenance and engineering department in the development of new methods, processes, and equipment necessary to reduce cost, improve operating efficiency, and meet present as well as future product design
- Identify risks and upgrade requirements to ensure equipment reliability performance is achieved for subsequent furnace campaigns post cold repairs
- Support, champion, and mentor continuous improvement projects
- Establish and maintain effective internal and external customer relationships.
Salary Range: $104,966-$143,952
