The Learning Loft is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Coding Instructor to teach age-appropriate programming classes for homeschool students in grades K–2, 3–5, 6–8, and high school. Each group will have its own class, allowing for customized lessons based on age and experience level. Whether you're introducing block coding to beginners or exploring Python and JavaScript with teens, you’ll help students build confidence, creativity, and real-world tech skills.
Flexible Scheduling – You Choose Your Availability
Classes may be scheduled anytime between 9 AM and 8 PM, Monday through Friday, with weekend options available. We’re happy to accommodate your college or personal schedule—perfect for CS students or professionals looking for a flexible teaching opportunity.
What You’ll Do:
- Teach coding fundamentals using platforms like Scratch, Code.org, Blockly, Python, and more
- Design engaging, level-appropriate lessons for each grade band
- Introduce problem-solving, sequencing, logic, and creative coding projects
- Adapt lessons to suit students’ age, fluency level, and interests
- Foster a fun, collaborative learning environment that encourages exploration
You Might Be a Great Fit If You:
- Have a background in coding and enjoy working with kids and teens
- Are familiar with educational coding tools and platforms
- Are patient, creative, and confident leading small group instruction
- Have prior experience teaching, tutoring, or mentoring (preferred but not required)
Position Details:
- 1099 contract position
- Pay: $20+/hour based on experience and education
- Fall semester (August–November), with the potential to continue
- Curriculum support and classroom technology provided
