Position Summary:We are looking for an experienced and motivated Coffee Shop Manager to lead our team, oversee daily operations, and help us grow while maintaining our high standards. As the manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily shop operations, with a focus on team leadership, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. You’ll play a key role in shaping the shop culture, developing staff, and ensuring smooth, profitable operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of 20+ employees, fostering a positive and productive work environment
- Work 40-45 hours a week. flexibility to cover shifts as needed outside of scheduled hours is expected
- Hire, onboard, and oversee training of all new team members
- Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and labor efficiency
- Process payroll and maintain accurate employee records
- Oversee ordering, vendor relationships, and inventory tracking to ensure consistent supply of goods
- Conduct cost analysis and implement strategies to maintain profitability
- Monitor and maintain all coffee and kitchen equipment, scheduling repairs or servicing as needed
- Oversee roasting staff to ensure a consistent supply of coffee for both the café and wholesale clients
- Oversee day to day operations at the roastery and ensure that all supplies are kept stocked.
- Address and resolve operational issues promptly, maintaining smooth day-to-day operations
- Ability to delegate and lead by example
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation regulations and licensing
- Maintain high standards of customer service and quality control
- Teach barista training classes to the public at the roastery
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of management experience, ideally with a team of 10+ employees
- Strong background in coffee or specialty coffee (barista or café experience required)
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in basic financial tasks (payroll, budgeting, cost control)
- Comfortable with point-of-sale systems specifically Square, scheduling software, and inventory tools
- Proven ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions under pressure
- Passion for building a strong, service-oriented team
Compensation:
- Competitive salary based on experience 60-70k
