This position supports the management of BHE Pipeline Group compensation programs, including alignment across the businesses. This role supports the annual compensation review, including system preparation and testing. This role also consults with human resources staff in matters related to compensation strategy, programs and issues.
Compensation Analyst:
- Assists in the management of BHE Pipeline Group companies' compensation programs, annual incentives, union pay and other recognition programs.
- Oversees the compensation administration for multiple company platforms, compiles compensation reports, manages job descriptions and necessary updates, manages the annual salary survey submissions for BHE Pipeline Group companies, reviews salary recommendations, and conducts job reviews and group reorganizations.
- Assists human resources in developing and updating job descriptions and provides consultation for reorganizations and job reviews. This includes researching market data to determine a recommendation for job grade and FLSA classification for positions.
- Supports pay equity review and other pay compliance and governance programs and facilitates compensation approval processes.
- Participates in annual and ad hoc salary surveys.
- Assists in administering the company's base pay and incentive programs.
Sr Compensation Analyst:
- Support the administration of the nonqualified plans including the long-term incentive plans, deferred compensation plans, and applicable retirement plans.
- Support the annual compensation review process for BHE Pipeline Group.
- Support executive compensation reporting and assists in documenting executive compensation for due diligence projects.
- Supports pay equity review and other pay compliance and governance programs and facilitates compensation approval processes.
- Audit, analyze and improve upon current compensation practices and procedures.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance and support to compensation staff and relevant human resources personnel across BHE Pipeline Group businesses.
- Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Compensation Analyst:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, human resource management, related field or equivalent related work experience. (Typically, six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)
1-3 years of compensation experience, or three or more years of related human resources experience.
Experience using human resource information systems for data extraction and reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including spreadsheets and mail merges, and the ability to extract information from human resources information systems.
High attention to detail and a strong customer focus.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
Sr. Compensation Analyst:
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance or human resources management or in an area related to this field or equivalent related work experience. (Typically, six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)
5+ years of related experience including 3 years of compensation experience.
Advanced knowledge of compensation programs, processes and technology.
General understanding of tax provisions and legal requirements governing company compensation programs.
Basic knowledge of executive compensation and non-qualified plans.
Excellent communication skills and ability to influence and persuade.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines, excellent project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
Strong knowledge in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, vlookups, etc., and the ability to extract, organize and present information from human resources information systems. Effective oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills. Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
