Salary Range: $78,000 - $83,000

Our more than 150 team members help families navigate their childcare and preschool options and secure financial assistance to pay for it. We provide home-based childcare businesses with the training and resources to succeed. Through a wide range of free programs and workshops, we support parents and caregivers as they build child development skills. As the city’s second-largest nonprofit contractor, with an annual budget of over $240 million, we are a major stakeholder in the childcare system. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Compliance Manager oversees critical compliance functions to ensure that all child care services, systems, and data align with agency standards and contractual requirements. This position plays a key role in maintaining accountability, fostering collaboration across teams, and supporting high-quality, accurate data and documentation practices.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Child Care Program Integrity:

  • Maintain subject matter expertise in child care contract laws, regulations, and rules
  • Lead projects to ensure program administration complies with evolving requirements
  • Ensure clear communication and timely resolution of compliance-related issues
  • Develop and maintain procedures or to ensure fidelity and compliance between family and provider records
  • Regularly assess processes and recommend improvements to strengthen compliance practices and data accuracy
  • May supervise a team of program staff


Inquiry Management and Reporting:

  • Manage the systems through which clients, staff, and stakeholders can report suspected fraud or misuse
  • Coordinate timely follow-up, investigation, and documentation in alignment with agency protocols and ethical guidelines
  • Ensure transparency and confidentiality in reporting processes while maintaining integrity and trust within the network


Child Care Contract Reporting:

  • Manage and prepare compliance and performance reports for State and Locally funded child care contracts
  • Play a lead role in preparing documentation for audits
  • Review dashboards and data sources to ensure accuracy and reliability, and to continuously improve monitoring practices
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to verify data and understand trends or discrepancies

Cross-Agency Collaboration:

  • Lead collaborative efforts across agencies and partners to support comprehensive compliance practices.
  • Build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support coordinated compliance monitoring.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Social Work, Public Administration) or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of compliance, data management, or contract administration experience.
  • Strong understanding of data analysis, performance metrics, and reporting.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage stakeholders and promote collaboration.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.


PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Bilingual in Spanish or Cantonese
  • Experience working in early childhood education or family services programs.
  • Knowledge of family and provider compliance requirements in early care and education systems.
  • Familiarity with data dashboards, reporting tools, and cross-agency collaboration.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to remain stationary for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to move throughout the office, access files, meet with staff and external partners, climb four flights of stairs if needed.
  • Require the mental acuity to perform the essential functions as outlined in an accurate and timely fashion.

Hybrid Work

We have adopted a hybrid working model and currently require employees to be present in the office at least 3 days per week, with the option to work 2 days per week remotely. Applicants should be comfortable with both the remote and in office scenarios.
