Compliance Managers generally work in a comfortable office environment, typically for forty hours per week in offices close to top management. However, some shifts or extended hours may be required during busy periods. When schedules change and problems arise, working under pressure is unavoidable, as deadlines and goals must still be met. Due to the nature of global food compliance support, a manager may be required to be on-call on an irregular schedule, including weekends, early mornings, evenings, and holidays. Some time may be spent in the warehouse to inspect food products, which may involve entering cold storage. Travel is also sometimes necessary, and a Compliance Manager may even be required to travel outside the United States.
