Prestige CM specializes in providing construction management, cost estimating change order management, scheduling, and project control services.
We seek a Part Time Construction Estimator and Primavera Scheduler Level II or III for upcoming and ongoing building and infrastructure construction projects.
The ideal candidate will prepare building budget, prepare cost estimates, and review of construction schedule and TIA's for schools, public buildings, transportation, and other infrastructure projects;
The candidate must possess a solid grasp of quantities takeoff of foundation, structure, interior finishes, mechanical, plumbing, and sprinkler system as well as prepare a detailed construction schedule, review of contractor's schedule, forensic analysis of delays, and negotiate with contractor. The selected candidate may be required to travel to the Bay Area Project Site to attend meetings as required.
Scope of Work Estimator/Scheduler:
- Preparing construction schedules with cost and resource loading
- Review of contractor's schedule and provide comments
- Prepare independent TIA for change work scope with resource and cost loading
- Review of Time Impact Analysis (TIA) and negotiate with contractor's scheduler
- Perform detail quantities take off using BlueBeam or Vu360 for site work, paving, underground utilities, foundation, structure, structural steel, concrete, building enclosure, interior finishes, specialities, conveying system, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing and fire protection system
- Prepare cost estimate for complete building including site development
- Review and reconcile cost estimate with design or third party
- Review change work scope, prepare detail change order estimate and review change orders, provide comments and recommendation;
- Attend meeting with client and contractors, and present end product ie estimate, change order review or schedule
- Attend meetings, take meeting minutes and distribute minutes,
- Prepare, review, forward, and track the status of submittals; Process RFI, RFS, design changes
- Preparation of change orders, notices to proceed, requests for quotation, and other general correspondence; review of as-built documents
- Prepare and develop detailed third party cost estimates upon request
Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent written, interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to use Bluebeam, Vu 360 and RS Means cost book to prepare estimate
- Ablity to get vendor's quotes for equipment and fixtures etc.
- Proficient in using of Primavera Scheduling, Claim Digger, Microsoft Software
- Proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Presentation
- Strong problem-solving skills, including identifying data quality issues
- Results-oriented and able to complete tasks on deadline with little supervision
- Ability to make good decisions using sound, professional judgment
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering or Construction Management Required
- Valid California Driver’s License and Work Permit (Green card/US Citizen) Required
- 3-5 years of construction cost estimating and scheduling professional experience required;
