Construction Project Coordinator

Suresite
$26 - $28 an hour
Fresno County, California
Full time

Position Overview

SureSite Consulting Group, LLC is a leading infrastructure services company specializing in small cell and cell tower construction. We’re looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Wireless Telecom Construction Project Coordinator to join our high-performing team in Northern California. Based out of our Fresno office, this role is key to supporting our Construction Managers and Operations Manager in delivering fast, high-quality wireless infrastructure projects across the region.

If you're proactive, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and enjoy working with seasoned professionals, this is an excellent opportunity to play a vital role in a dynamic, field-driven operation. You’ll serve as the central hub for project coordination—tracking progress, managing documentation, and ensuring no detail is overlooked—helping to keep projects on time, on budget, and in compliance.

While occasional remote work from home is permitted, this is primarily an in-office and field-based position. You may occasionally travel to local jurisdictions to assist with permitting and regulatory needs, supporting our construction teams by being boots-on-the-ground when needed.

Key Responsibilities

In this collaborative support role, you will:

  • Provide administrative and logistical support to Construction Managers and the Operations Manager for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables from pre-construction through close-out, keeping everyone aligned with schedules and deadlines.
  • Perform accurate, timely data entry into project tracking systems and databases (Excel spreadsheets, CRM platforms, etc.), ensuring information is up-to-date.
  • Maintain and update project documentation – including project logs, construction schedules, permit status reports, and closeout packages – with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Coordinate documentation and communications with vendors, contractors, and internal teams: collect required permits, licenses, contracts, and ensure they are reviewed and properly filed.
  • Manage change orders and financial documents: track and log change orders, purchase orders, and invoices; assist in updating project budgets and status reports for the team.
  • Prepare weekly and ad-hoc reports for company leadership, clients, and field teams to communicate project status, risks, and accomplishments.
  • Assist with material logistics: track material orders and deliveries, coordinate staging timelines, and alert the team to any delays or issues.
  • Help resolve permitting and inspection issues, working with project managers to address any municipal or utility coordination hurdles quickly so projects stay on schedule.
  • Ensure compliance requirements are met for each project – verify that business licenses, crew certifications, and up-to-date Certificates of Insurance (COIs) are in place for all job sites.
  • Monitor important expiration dates (e.g. permits, insurance, or certification renewals) and work with teams to renew or update credentials before they lapse.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and insurance providers to submit and maintain current compliance documentation, keeping our projects audit-ready.
  • Support safety and quality initiatives: reinforce that field crews follow proper safety protocols and quality control procedures; help document any incidents or quality checks as needed.
  • Work closely with the accounting department to reconcile project expenses, ensuring all costs are documented and assisting with any invoice or purchase order questions for financial accountability.

In this position, no two days will be the same – you’ll be juggling multiple priorities and interfacing with project managers, construction supervisors, field technicians, and clients. It’s a role for a true multitasker who finds satisfaction in keeping everyone organized and informed.

Qualifications

We are looking for a reliable team player with the following background and skills:

  • Experience: 2+ years in wireless telecom, construction project coordination, or a related project support role. Experience in cell tower or wireless infrastructure projects is a strong plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (comfortable with formulas, filters, pivot tables, and managing data sets). Experience with project management or CRM software (e.g. HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar) is beneficial.
  • Detail Orientation: Exceptional data entry accuracy and attention to detail – you take pride in catching mistakes and double-checking your work.
  • Organization & Multitasking: Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, track myriad moving parts, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You’re able to clearly coordinate across teams (construction crews, managers, clients, vendors) and are not afraid to speak up to get clarity or provide updates.
  • Collaboration: A team-focused attitude with the ability to work closely with diverse internal teams and external partners. You thrive when helping others succeed and understand the value of good relationships.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with regulatory and compliance processes – for example, handling building permits, business licenses, or tracking crew certifications and safety training. Experience maintaining compliance documentation such as COIs (Certificates of Insurance) and safety certifications is a plus.
  • Accounting Coordination: Experience working with accounting or finance teams on project expenses or documentation processes is helpful. You understand the basics of invoices, POs, and budget tracking.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required. An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (business, construction management, etc.) is preferred.

Above all, we value reliability, eagerness to learn, and a positive attitude. If you’re the person who keeps everyone organized and you’re excited about growing in the telecom construction field, we want to hear from you.

Work Environment & Culture

Fast-Paced & Dynamic: You’ll be operating in a fast-paced construction environment with a blend of remote work, office coordination, and on-site field interaction. (Occasional travel within Southern California to project sites may be required.)

Team Atmosphere: We have a close-knit, high-performing team that prides itself on doing great work and supporting each other. Our culture is very team-focused – we trust each other to be reliable and we have each other’s backs at every step. Leadership is accessible and involved in day-to-day operations, avoiding unnecessary bureaucracy . We truly have a “family feel” here, encouraging creative problem-solving and proactive thinking .

Growth Opportunities: SureSite is a growing company and we invest in our employees’ development. Success in this Project Coordinator role can open doors to higher responsibility roles – many on our team have grown into Project Managers, Operations Managers, or Construction Manager positions over time. We’ll support your career advancement through experience on varied projects and mentorship from industry veterans.
