Job Description
The Project Manager is responsible for directing multiple mechanical projects through on-site construction managers/general contractors or direct with owners. This will include coordinating all efforts required to assure compliance with contracts and building codes in the construction or modification of existing or new facilities. Project Managers have total responsibility for ensuring established project objectives are met, the customer’s expectations are satisfied and for managing work in progress and financial outcomes.
This position requires leadership, technical knowledge, sound judgment, excellent communication skills and a knack for diplomacy. The Project Manager must also be able to prepare the project game plan for purchasing, prefabrication, material handling, labor manning and scheduling. In addition, the position requires establishing and maintaining job site organization, coordinating with our VDC, prefabrication and QA/QC teams, maintaining job schedules, adhering to safety requirements and managing all other construction job site priorities.
Job Requirements
- 5 - 7 years' experience in industrial and commercial construction contracting
- Associates’ or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, Construction Management Technology, Engineering Technology or other construction-related degree
- Experience running mechanical, HVAC, process piping and/or plumbing projects in the $500,000 to $5,000,000 range
- Familiarity with virtual design in construction, BIM, or design assist projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an honest, respectful, professional approach
- Competent judgment and attention to detail
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project and computerized job costing is essential
- Valid driver's license
- OSHA 30-Hour safety training desirable
