Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Concrete Construction Safety Manager to oversee safety protocols and ensure compliance on construction sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs that promote a culture of safety within the organization. This role requires strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of occupational health regulations, and the ability to effectively communicate safety standards to all team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive safety programs, protocols, and policies.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Lead accident/incident investigations, analyze root causes, and recommend preventive measures.
- Provide safety training and education for employees, subcontractors, and supervisors.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation on safety inspections, incident reports, training, and regulatory compliance.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all safety-related communications and emergency response planning.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and contractors to ensure safety is integrated into project planning and execution.
- Monitor and track safety performance metrics and prepare reports for executive leadership.
- Stay current with industry best practices and emerging safety technologies.
- Lead and maintain our Apprenticeship Program.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in construction safety management including experience in a leadership role.
- OSHA 30-hour current construction certification required or ability to obtain within 6 months; OSHA 500 preferred.
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA, DOT, federal, state, and local safety regulations, with a proven track record of compliance and enforcement.
- Exceptional customer service skills and ability to work in a collaborative, team environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, with all levels of internal staff, vendors, subcontractors, and other business partners.
- Ability to train and motivate teams on safety protocols.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge and experience with construction software and technology (Procore and Microsoft Office) preferred.
- Bilingual- English and Spanish (preferred)
Work Conditions:
- Primarily field-based with office responsibilities.
- Exposure to construction environments, including weather conditions, noise, and machinery.
- Must be able to walk/stand for extended periods and navigate jobsites in all phases of construction.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $800.00 - $1,200.00 per week
