Salary Range: $80,000 - $130,000
NBS has standard office hours of Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. PST with the option to work a Compressed Work Week (9/80) schedule.
Summary:
NBS is currently seeking a motivated Consultant to expand our Cost Allocation Plan and Fee Group. This position will support our cost allocation plan, indirect cost rate proposal, user/regulatory fee studies and cost recovery policy areas of practice.
The Consultant is responsible for providing expert guidance, strategic insights, and support to NBS’ public agency clients. This role combines data analysis, project management, client relationship management, and cross-selling for additional services to drive value for both the client and NBS. The Consultant will work closely with clients to identify business challenges, analyze data to support decision making, manage projects individually and in collaboration with team members, and build long-term, trusted client relationships.
Essential Functions:
- Project Management: Lead and manage multiple projects, ensuring that timelines, project scope, and budget hours are met. Coordinate and/or assist in the coordination of project teams, resources, and deliverables, ensuring successful and timely completion. Communicate effectively with internal teams and clients to align expectations and project goals. Identify risks and proactively escalate challenges to senior team members to be addressed through the project lifecycle. Develop and maintain project documentation, reports, and client communications.
- Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret client data to generate actionable insights. Develop and use analytical models to assist client objectives. Present data-driven findings to team and clients in a clear and impactful manner, supporting decision making and appropriate business strategies and processes. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data used in reports, dashboards, and all other deliverables.
- Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients by understanding their business needs and challenges. Serve as primary point of contact for assigned clients and projects throughout the consulting engagement. Provide ongoing support and recommendations to ensure client satisfaction and project success. Act as an advocate for the client, ensuring their needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
- Cross-Selling: Identify opportunities to expand the scope of services provided to clients through additional projects or offerings. Educate clients on other services available within the firm and how they can add value to the client. Assist in driving revenue growth through strategic cross-selling, ensuring that client needs are met while expanding business opportunities and client retention.
Position Requirements:
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience directly working as a professional consultant in cost allocation plans, fee studies and/or indirect cost rate proposals.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and present it effectively.
- Excellent project management skills, with a proven track record of managing projects with increasing levels of autonomy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build client relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to identify opportunities for cross-selling and generating new business.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and project management software, including advanced level of Excel, and similar platforms.
- A proven ability to think strategically and provide actionable insights based on client data and needs.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks concurrently.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
