The Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority is seeking a Consumer and Digital Marketing Manager. The Consumer and Digital Marketing Manager’s primary purpose is to execute and coordinate Virginia ABC’s consumer engagement digital marketing strategies and programs to grow retail sales, profits and return to the Commonwealth. This position is responsible for working with the Consumer Engagement team in developing, implementing and evaluating communication and promotional strategies and tactical plans.

The Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority is seeking a Consumer and Digital Marketing Manager. The Consumer and Digital Marketing Manager’s primary purpose is to execute and coordinate Virginia ABC’s consumer engagement digital marketing strategies and programs to grow retail sales, profits and return to the Commonwealth. This position is responsible for working with the Consumer Engagement team in developing, implementing and evaluating communication and promotional strategies and tactical plans.
Areas of Responsibility
- Monitors assigned operations to ensure program objectives are achieved, and that projects are conducted within approved time frames, budgets and are in compliance with appropriate state, federal and Authority legal and policy requirements.
- Proactively alerts leadership when roadblocks are encountered and/or dates will be missed.
- Actively keeps the division leadership, ABC leadership and other internal and external stakeholders informed of the status of assigned projects and activities through weekly reports, and other periodic status reports.
- Assist in developing and implementing annual consumer engagement calendar, plans and activities.
- Works closely with industry suppliers, Retail Operations, Logistics, Digital and Brand, and Communications to promote sales while balancing requirements for responsible consumption.
- Stays informed on digital trends, emerging platforms, tools and best practices.
- Responsible for leading the Authority’s digital marketing campaign and content strategies across business-to-consumer (B2C) channels including web, organic social, SEO, paid social, email, SMS and other relevant digital channels.
- Plan and manage digital campaigns across paid, owned and earned media channels, including but not limited to PPC, SEO, email, display, affiliate and social media.
- Develop the communications and promotional plans to create consumer awareness and usage of the Virginia ABC website and e-commerce capabilities.
- Place digital advertising for Authority promotional events through channels like Meta, Google Display Network and other relevant paid advertising channels.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience developing and implementing major retail consumer engagement programs and digital marketing programs.
- Associate’s degree in marketing or marketing research, communications or closely related field required with advanced degree preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in marketing, communications, or closely related purchasing field and/or relevant certifications
