About The Team
Roku’s Content Acquisition & Programming team is responsible for driving the strategy, execution and continued management of licensed content and partnerships for The Roku Channel across the US and international territories including: Brazil, Canada, Mexico and the UK and the newly launched subscription streaming service Howdy. The team encompasses Content Acquisition (responsible for deal strategy and negotiation to acquire Movies, TV Series, FAST Channels, and more), Content Partnerships (responsible for managing Roku’s hundreds of content partners), Content Strategy & Planning (responsible for guiding content investments and windowing tactics to maximize engagement and ROI), and FAST Channels Management (responsible for the strategy and execution behind FAST channels).
About the Role
The Content Strategy & Planning Team is looking for a Content Strategy Associate to help drive impact across breadth of strategy work, supporting the Content Strategy & Planning department. This team works directly with Senior Roku Media Leadership to define success, and thus, content needs. This team is a partner to Leadership in unpacking and solving ambiguous problems, translating data into impactful recommendations and co-creating solutions cross-functionally. A part of a small, but impactful team, this new Associate will have the opportunity to not only be a part of, but define, the next phase of streaming television.

For California Only - The estimated annual salary for this position is between $86,000 and $94,000 annually.
Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location.

What you’ll be doing
- Leveraging data to identify, translate, and illustrate critical content and service performance trends that will help to provide actionable business insights to Senior Leadership
- Collaborate with key cross-functional business partners to ensure analyses build upon the latest insights of internal research groups and financial budgets/goals.
- Own key workstreams that will inform content understanding and decisions, driving analyzes end-to-end with minimal guidance
- Create models and trackers to assess and report on value, performance, and trade-offs
- Partner with Core Analytics and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) teams to assist in advanced analytics and to optimize and ensure accuracy of tools, approaches, and reporting
- Regularly present analyzes and reports on relevant operating and financial metrics in an easy-to-understand format to Leadership
- Understand and keep up with industry trends and work with Team to reflect in strategies
- Perform other ad hoc tasks, projects, and responsibilities as assigned by leadership
We're excited if you have
Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant experience: top-tier strategy consulting experience preferred; analytical roles often dealing with ambiguity (e.g., leading company's strategy function, business operations at a start-up)
- Familiarity with domestic and international media markets and landscape, a plus
- Strong analytical background with experience operating with large data sets to identify trends and actionable insights
- Strong experience with Excel, business intelligence, and data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau). Looking for strong foundational skills that will enable the candidate to quickly and independently work with these tools. Airtable and/or ability to code in programming languages like SQL and Python helpful but not required.
- Role is based in Santa Monica, must be on-site 4 days a week
- BA / BS degree or equivalent practical experience (MBA a plus)
