Job Summary
The Continuing Medical Education (CME) Project Manager establishes professional relationships with providers and CHOC Medical Staff. Develops and implements strategies to fill a 36-month event calendar, scheduling medical staff physicians to rotate for educational lectures, series, or conferences. Ensures CME activities and events are successfully completed. May be required on evenings and weekends.
Pay Range
Minimum $30.94 Midpoint $40.99 Maximum $51.05
Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
Experience
- Required: Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience.
- Preferred: Five (5) years of experience in a healthcare or academic environment planning continuing medical education (CME) or other healthcare professional events.
Education
- Required: Bachelor’s degree or five (5) years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
Training
- Required: Experience in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) or Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Preferred: Certification in meeting planning (CMP) or project management professional (PMP).
Specialized Skills
- Required: Able to keyboard 40 wpm. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position; Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision. Knowledge of California Medical Association (CMA) Continuing Medical Educational (CME) criteria. Strong customer service skills with the ability to cultivate partnerships. Ability to solve problems using sound judgment. Ability to use conference event and web-based tools.
- Preferred: Experience with developing professional speakers’ bureau.
