We’re looking for a financial leader who isn’t satisfied with just keeping the books—but who wants to drive strategy, execute with precision, and deliver measurable results.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting and bookkeeping functions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings with efficiency.
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls and financial processes.
- Mentor and manage accounting staff, fostering growth and development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of financial operations.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to help guide decision-making.
- Manage the preparation and review of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- Active CPA designation required.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including controller roles.
- At least 5 years of work experience with Big 4 public accounting experience is required.
- Experience with bookkeeping, financial analysis, and U.S. tax estimation is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
- Experience in a startup or new service line environment is highly desirable.
- Ability to adapt to dual roles, supporting both Beyond the Books and Horizon Advisors as needed.
Compensation & Work Arrangement:
This is a remote opportunity offering a competitive hourly rate of $60 to $90 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
