We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Controller to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Leadership
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, inventory accounting, and cost accounting.
- Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Develop, and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with GAAP.
Cost & Inventory Management
- Manage standard costing, cost analysis, and inventory valuation for our in-house manufacturing and distribution operations.
- Partner with Operations and Supply Chain teams to monitor inventory levels, cycle counts, and product margins.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Provide timely financial reporting and actionable insights to leadership to support strategic decisions.
- Partner closely with the CFO to analyze trends, risks, and opportunities across our D2C/e-commerce, commercial, and manufacturing segments.
Team Development & Collaboration
- Lead and develop a small accounting team, fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, and Procurement teams to drive process improvements and financial transparency.
Audit & Compliance
- Manage the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax and regulatory requirements.
Process Improvement & Systems
- Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes and systems for scalability and efficiency.
- Support ERP system enhancements and other finance technology initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP with experience preparing compliant financial statements, managing audits, and maintaining internal controls
- 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or Controller role—manufacturing, consumer goods, or retail experience preferred
- Expertise in cost accounting, inventory valuation, COGS, and gross margin analysis
- Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and advanced Excel; familiarity with reporting tools such as Power BI a plus
- Strong leadership, team development, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
