Position/Application Information

McNeese State University, a Division I member of the NCAA and the Southland Conference, is seeking a highly motivated individual with strong leadership and technical skills to fill the position of Coordinator of Facilities and External Operations. This is a full-time, 12-month, unclassified position. The appointment begins July 1, 2025.

This position will facilitate the Game and Facility Operations under the direction of the Assistant Athletics Director of Game Operations and Facilities and will implement goals and objectives as they relate to McNeese’s NCAA Division I Athletics Program, the Southland Conference and NCAA policies and procedures.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Event and Facility Manager for specific sports in conjunction with the Assistant AD for Game Operations and Facilities
  • Work with the coaches, Director of Marketing and McNeese Athletic Foundation to produce a high-quality game production as well as reaching a greater target audience for assigned sports
  • Assist with athletic promotional and fundraising events: Diamond Dinner, Friday Night Block Party, Gatsby Gala, etc.
  • Coordinate and manage every aspect of athletic competition, as well as the day-to-day operations
  • Oversee all facility related duties including cleanliness, outside events, work orders, etc.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve processes, systems, and facilities management
  • Works with the Director of Athletics and Senior Associate AD on event and facility operations
  • Administer Athletic Graduate Assistants, Student Interns and Student Workers

Specific Duties Include
:
  • Coordinate all units for each athletic event (Facilities, Custodians, Police, Security, Concessions, Ushers, Game workers, etc)
  • Prepare script timeline for games and oversee each athletic event from beginning to end
  • Set up and break down of events, including instant replay and other required systems
  • Coordination of Officials, Scoreboards, and the Game day workers/ushers
  • Other duties as assigned

Required/Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s required; Master’s preferred
  • Experience with game operations, event management, or facilities
  • Thorough knowledge of game operations and event management, as well as Southland Conference and NCAA rules
  • Ability to communicate with diverse audiences in a way they can and will effectively steward and advance the Athletics Department
  • Excellent, oral, written, and interpersonal communications and management skills
