Responsibilities:
The selected intern will be a hands-on contributor within the Corporate Communications department, working with the Director of Public Relations and the Senior Manager of Organizational Communications. The intern will learn valuable communications skills and gain working experience in a fast-paced environment with the opportunity to truly contribute to projects. Major responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in carrying out day-to-day needs of the Corporate Communications Dept. (answering phones, follow-up on media requests, information gathering, etc.).
- Writing of internal communications materials for MSA Connect
- Media monitoring and compiling of media reports as needed
- Developing and compiling presentations
- Assisting with company Intranet content development
- Proofing departmental work
Special knowledge, skills and abilities required:
- Excellent writing, proofreading, and communication skills
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks with little supervision
Education and experience required:
- Student should be of Junior or Senior status at a college or university.
- An educational focus on journalism or related communications field is recommended.
