As part of this expansion in the US, XNRGY is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Analyst to join its team. Reporting to the Plant Controller, you will play a critical role in analyzing manufacturing costs, preparing cost reports, and supporting strategic decision-making. This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to communicate insights effectively to cross-functional teams of the facility based in Arizona.
An overview of your responsibilities:
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to develop a solid understanding of product components and their cost drivers and assess project profitability from initial quote through final delivery by analyzing production costs, material consumption, labor, and overhead to uncover trends and variances.
- Approach challenges with curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset, always seeking to understand the “why” behind the numbers
- Responsible for the weekly posting of inventory movements in the ERP system. Must be able to analyze the data, validate recorded transactions, and implement corrections when necessary.
- Contribute to month-end and year-end closing activities by supporting inventory and cost accounting processes, while also assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and broader financial planning efforts.
- Develop and maintain cost models and dashboards to support business decisions
- Support effective inventory management by assisting in inventory control, valuation, and reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy and alignment with financial reporting standards
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting standards, and support audit processes by preparing and providing accurate, cost-related documentation as required
What you'll need, among other things!
- 3 years or more of experience in a similar role in manufacturing environment.
- Experience in a large company is an asset.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory valuation.
- Clear grasp of how individual product components contribute to overall cost and performance
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office Suite tools • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with a business-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
- Participation in company or project startups (an asset).
