Job Summary
The Crew Leader executes site-level tasks on BrightView customer sites and directs the work of 2–5 employees. This role ensures that all assigned tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to the quality standards set by BrightView and its clients. Crew Leaders may oversee crews in maintenance, landscape installation, irrigation, seasonal color, and chemical applications.
Responsibilities
- Direct and manage daily activities of the crew
- Enforce safety and company policies
- Train employees to meet job requirements
- Collaborate with Operations and Account Managers to ensure efficient service
- Inspect work to ensure it meets BrightView and customer expectations
- Communicate customer concerns and assist in resolution
- Report staffing and equipment needs to Operations Manager
- Perform equipment safety and maintenance checks
- Monitor and direct crew performance
- Ensure accurate time and attendance reporting
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Proficiency in one or more landscape maintenance service lines
- Experience managing and directing crew members
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to load/unload equipment and supplies
- Frequent bending, stooping, and twisting throughout the day
Work Environment
- Work near automotive traffic and natural bodies of water
- Exposure to extreme weather conditions (heat over 100°F, direct sunlight)
- Outdoor work in dusty, humid, or hazardous environments
- Use of protective gear: eye protection, safety vest, gloves, hard hat, ear plugs, long sleeves, and work boots
