The Maintenance Crew Member performs all aspects of tasks associated with our landscape maintenance department, along with Snow & Ice Management services. This position requires an enthusiastic individual who wants to grow with us, be a part of a crew, and deliver exceptional results. The Maintenance Crew Member’s role is key to ensuring our work meets or exceeds client expectations. This individual must bring a strong desire to learn, participate, and be trained in safety meetings, as well as work on routes assigned, ensure clocks are accurate, and work is done to RM’s standards. It’s physically demanding and would be a working role alongside other crew members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial Landscape Skills: perform all levels of landscape maintenance tasks assigned, adhering to all safety protocols, such as planting, weeding, removal of plants, bed clean-up, bed maintenance, mulching, scrub trimming, watering, ground care maintenance, edging, and trimming. Performing high quality outcomes for Green Season and Ice & Snow Season.
- Equipment Knowledge and Operation: operation of landscape maintenance equipment and tools in a safe and efficient manner. Equipment includes, but limited to; string trimmers, edgers, leaf blowers, spray backs, chain saws, hand pruners, hedge trimmers, and mowers. Mulching, spring clean ups and fall clean ups. Additional experience with understanding commercial vehicles and various trailers is helpful, plus driving experience.
- Reporting and Quality Control: provide regular production/equipment/injuries/damage-based issues to Field Manager. All crew members are responsible for meeting and exceeding RM standards at all client sites.
- Relationship Building and Collaboration: nurture strong relationships with Field Managers, Production Managers and other Crew Members.
- Equipment Maintenance: adhere to all required schedule maintenance appointments, notify Shop Manager of truck, trailer, and/or equipment issues by phone to diagnosis and/or provide service call. Complete all Repair Ticket Tags for equipment and Shop Repair/Service Request forms for truck and trailer repairs on return to the yard.
- Time Recording: adhere to time clock procedures, safety rules and regulations, equipment operation, equipment maintenance and proper landscape procedures in accordance with company training procedures.
- Training: ability to grow within the company, attend and participate in all scheduled meetings and training sessions as required. Ensure all new hires are fully trained within RM guidelines.
- Green and Snow Season Duties: role requires additional duties assigned at season changes, portfolio or site responsibilities, and equipment role.
- Safety: ensure that all work is performed safely and in accordance with company and industry standards and regulations. Contribute to our safety culture by wearing assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Qualifications:
- Required:
- Must be at least 17 years of age.
- US work authorization.
- Transportation: reliable transportation and ability to commute to the yard and/or direct-to-site.
- Teamwork: ability to work on a crew and understand each crew member plays an important role to be successful.
- Basic Knowledge: working understanding of procedures, methods, techniques, and equipment in landscape maintenance routines, human relations skills to interact with co-workers, managers, and clients.
- Abilities: to learn and perform essential duties of role; to plant, prune, care for lawns and plants. Learn and apply herbicides or pesticides safely. Understand basic pest and plant diseases, Use and take care of hand tools, mechanical equipment, power tools, and rolling equipment.
- Physical Abilities: to stand for extended period, walk long distances, manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to heavy weights up to 50lbs on regular basis, to be able to push, pull, and guide materials over 75lbs. to climb, stoop, kneel, and crouch on a regular basis, bend, twist, reach out, or stretch, hand-eye coordination, hand and finger dexterity; including ability to grasp, visual operation of ground equipment, able to move two or more limbs together, make fast or slow repetitive movements, read or verbal instructions (operation of, safety procedures, etc.), auditory ability to hear machines, alarms, and others, and speaking abilities to carry on conversations. Work in extreme temperature conditions.
- Outdoor Preparation: bring and wear appropriate uniform and additional protection such as rain gear, dry clothes, go-bag with food, water, and/or any medications needed throughout the day, work boots, and sunscreen.
- Communication, Problem Solving, and Software skills: good verbal/written communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with Apps (i.e. Aspire).
- Preferred:
- Experience: entry-level to advance landscaping maintenance, production, irrigation, enhancement, or construction crew experience and/or supervision, plus Ice & Snow management.
- Commercial Driving: Non-CDL DOT Medical Certificate, and valid driver’s license.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Technical School or College Degree
- Bi-Lingual in Spanish.

Schedule, Travel, Working Conditions, and Location:
- Green Season: Monday to Friday with 7a prompt start, with occasional overtime and weekends; scheduled-based work.
- Snow Season: 24/7 operations, based on assignment.
- Reporting to yard and/or direct-to-site as instructed.
- Work is performed outdoors where significant health and safety considerations exist from physical labor and working in the elements, with machinery.
