Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepare Wires: Cut to precise lengths, strip insulation, and prep components for crimping.
- Crimp & Assemble: Use machines and hand tools to crimp connectors onto wires and cables.
- Inspect for Quality: Ensure all finished products meet exacting standards.
- Maintain Inventory: Audit and track stock levels; help plan production needs.
- Collaborate on Products: Partner with engineering and technical teams to meet evolving design needs.
- Record Everything: Document materials used, quantities processed, and any issues that arise.
- Keep Equipment Running: Perform basic maintenance to keep tools and machines in top condition.
- Work Safely: Follow all safety procedures and use proper PPE.
- Solve Problems: Troubleshoot crimping and wiring issues quickly and effectively.
- Join the Team: Support colleagues, help train new operators, and participate in design and production reviews.
- Manage Quotes: Request, review, and track supplier quotes and pricing for wire-related materials.
- Communicate with Suppliers: Maintain strong vendor relationships and resolve issues as needed.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Hands-on experience with wire prep, crimping, or cable assembly (preferred in electronics or industrial environments).
- Comfortable using crimping tools, wire cutters, and hand tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints a plus.
- Familiarity with quality control standards and electrical safety practices.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem solving mindset – quick to identify and solve /fix issues.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements and Working Environment
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 60lbs.
- Dexterity to work with small parts and perform repetitive tasks.
- Manufacturing/production environment with machines, equipment and occasional high noise.
- Safety-first culture: PPE required and guidelines provided.
