Cultural Graphic Designer (Contract – Workbook Project)

Flat project rate (DOE); estimated 15–25 hours total
About the Role:
We’re seeking a culturally grounded graphic designer to support the layout and visual design of a workbook for a community-centered learning lab. The workbook blends social justice, ancestral wisdom, and practical tools for grassroots organizers and movement leaders. You’ll help bring the content to life in a beautiful, accessible way, and aligned with decolonial values.
Responsibilities:
- Format and lay out a ~90-page workbook using existing content and structure
- Apply an established color palette and visual mood (cover art already complete)
- Integrate cultural motifs, icons, and symbols aligned with the workbook’s themes
- Update and refine an existing logo
- Ensure visual flow, accessibility, and print/digital readiness
- Collaborate with the creator to meet key deadlines
Timeline:
- Begin: June 15
- First draft due: July 25 (for internal edits)
- Revision due: August 5
- Final version due: August 15
Ideal Qualifications:
- Strong portfolio in workbook, curriculum, or print layout
- Experience working with QT/BIPOC or cultural healing projects
- Familiarity with themes of liberation, education, or community wellness
- Values-aligned: collaborative, detail-oriented, and culturally respectful
