Position Summary:
The Cultural & Linguistics Specialist supports the development and delivery of programs that ensure members, providers, and staff receive culturally and linguistically appropriate services. This role helps bridge language and cultural gaps in healthcare by providing translation and interpretation support, coordinating outreach efforts, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate interpretation and translation services for members and providers.
- Organize and present educational sessions to internal staff, providers, and community members.
- Participate in community outreach and engagement events.
- Assist in reviewing and developing culturally appropriate materials and resources.
- Manage relationships with language vendors and support quality assurance of translated content.
- Support data tracking, reporting, and compliance with cultural and linguistic service requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, social services, communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare or managed care setting.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish with Tier II certification (verbal and written).
- Strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities.
- Valid California driver’s license and ability to travel locally (up to 30%).
Preferred Knowledge:
- Principles of cultural competency and health literacy.
- Experience working with diverse populations and community partners.
- Familiarity with translation workflows and community health education.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
